Two generations of Ferrari flagship parked nose-to-nose on the 17-Mile Drive coastline — Rosso Corsa Enzo alongside a Giallo Modena LaFerrari, both with doors up. Flat marine-layer light kept the reds and yellows honest and let the shapes talk: the Enzo's F1-nose and quad taillights against the LaFerrari's knife-edge aero, framed through weathered fence rails and the grey Pacific.

Same pair, different world. Long after the crowds cleared, the two Tuataras sat under a hotel pergola in Monterey with nothing but sodium light and ferns for company — the lime-striped carbon Striker and the silver-and-red Aggressor, wings up, hunting nothing.

Two track weapons idling on the same Pebble Beach lodge driveway in the fog: the orange-and-white number 12 Senna GTR nose-out on the kerb, and a gloss black Apollo IE sat beside it looking like something that escaped a wind tunnel. Shot wide to keep the cypress and clipped hedges in frame, then again from behind as the GTR was walked out on its UK plate.
